Cut-length assumption

Each sloped piece consumes its tallest point, rounded to the nearest 1/16″. The schedule follows one uniform slope from front to back.

How the planner works

Consumption down the roll.

Piece count

Effective coverage is the stock width minus both side laps. Each wall run is divided by that coverage and rounded up to a whole piece.

Straight flashing

Every straight piece consumes the same amount of coil length: the entered flashing height. Piece count multiplied by height gives straight-run roll use.

Single and double slopes

The calculator finds the profile height at both edges of every piece. In gable mode it also checks whether the peak falls inside a piece and uses that peak as the cut length, preventing an underestimated blank or a double-counted centre lap.

Confirm the profile before cutting the roll.

This calculator plans rectangular blanks and taper marks. Add any hems, locks, kick-outs, end conditions, corner returns or other bends that consume material beyond the entered profile heights. Verify the direction of laps, water shedding, substrate, membranes, fasteners and approved project details before fabrication or installation.
